The story so far...
--------------------------------------------------------------
The mission, failed. Your comrades, wiped out. UAC, left you for dead. Struggling to stand your ground from the wounds you sustained in the war against hell, you fall into a chasm. The last thing you remember before passing out is the feeling of a slightly warm, sticky liquid enveloping your body, gently carrying you along its flow.

You open your eyes. You're in a dark cave, lying against a grate, the walls and floor covered in blood. You're alive. You notice some nearby medikits that must have fallen down during the battle, and quickly scramble to patch yourself up. You spend some time hiding in the cave, waiting for your wounds to heal.

Days pass by.

You use up all of your emergency rations, trying to store your energy to fight your way out when the demons come looking for you. Two birds with one stone, you figure; advance the fight against hell by eliminating their forces and escape back to the surface while you're at it. You don't know what's happening on earth, but you know one thing for sure: to hell with the demons taking over!

Right then, you hear some splashing coming from the mouth of the cave and the clacking of bones hitting against each other.

The moment has arrived.

They have finally come for you.

Fight your way out, and survive another day.

Styx.wad is a standalone map using only stock doom/doom II textures that I've been working on over the course of about a week. I started it on 11/04/2026 and finished it on 17/04/2026. Working on this map has been an absolute blast, and I'm very proud of the final result. This is my first time making a map, and it definitely won't be my last. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did making it!
